In this articles, you will know complete Guidance for FPSC Lecturer Test Preparation conducted by FPSC. I will recommend books past papers and general tips that will help you to stay in the qualifying merit for these posts.
Main Parts of FPSC Lecturer Test
- Total mcqs question are 100 and the test consists of 3 parts:
1. English (20 MCQs)
2. Subject: (50 MCQs)
3. Professional: Pedagogy (30 MCQs)
1. *English Portion*
Focus on grammar and vocabulary. You can study any good grammar book such as To The Point by Aftab Ahmed. Also, go through the English portion of FPSC past papers because the same type of questions appear in the test.
To the Point Guide by Aftab Iqbal, Past Papers and English Portion, you can get the pdfs from me.
2. *Subject Portion*
Now let’s talk about subject preparation. For this part, check the official syllabus first and then search and prepare those topics from the Matric and Intermediate textbooks of the Federal or any Provincial Board thoroughly. In addition, cover these topics from your BS/master level books/notes.
The subject questions in the FPSC test are not very difficult; they are mostly from master level then Intermediate level and then matric level. Calculator is allowed in math test only.
3. *Professional/Pedagogy*
As far as the Professional/Pedagogy portion is concerned, in my opinion this is the most important part because almost everyone is familiar with the subject content, but pedagogy creates a difference. Questions in this portion come from four domains:
1. Teaching techniques and methodologies
2. Classroom management and discipline
3. Testing and evaluation
4. Knowledge of Bloom’s Taxonomy
If you want to prepare this part from a single book, then FPSC Lecturer Guide by GreenPakistani is best for it. Additionally you can read Qualify B.Ed / Qualify Guide by Parvez Iqbal but do not buy the MCQs-only version, get the book that contains both theory and MCQs. You do not need to prepare the entire book because it is a general book and contain overall syllabus of b.ed/m.ed degree.
Most important point is that there is negative marking in the paper. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. So attempt a question only if you are 60% sure about the answer.
